Why did we stop inventing gods?

Not the modern ones that we have created. Our laws are a lot better than the outdated laws of the older gods. Regards DL

Why did we stop inventing gods?

Why did we stop inventing gods? The ancients were quite good at inventing new gods. The bible shows that the Jews invented many gods before deciding that god could not be defined and settled for “I am“, as the greatest expression of god. “I am” as spoken as a man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJkNs512Lsk Jews, in their oral tradition, gave man the last word in what god and his policies were to be. They accepted that the man they chose as head Rabbi of their Divine council had the power to overrule their written tradition. Man’s words, not an imaginary god, had the final say on policy. Man was supreme and not one of the imaginary gods. Christianity then changed much of the morals and policies of their newly invented god, Yahweh, and also transferred the power of god to a man. Jesus. Jesus was now placed at the power seat at the right hand of his newly invented god and placed Yahweh in the right hemisphere of the brain, as shown in the art of the day as depicted by Michelangelo in his creation painting in the Vatican. Islam then invented Allah, and so far, rightfully named him the last god to be invented. Foolish but true to date. I see that search for a god as a search for the best laws and rules to live life by. After all, we cannot follow an imaginary god and can only follow the laws and rules that those imaginary gods has spoken, recognizing of course, that only a person can speak those laws and rules and that it was really a wise person who was uttering those words. Gnostic Christians always saw those invented gods, specifically Yahweh, Jesus and Allah, as immoral and not worthy of us and that is why they named those gods as immoral and vile demiurges. This is not to say that those demiurges did not have some good policies but only says that a better god could and should be invented. Gnostic Christianity lost the god wars and was decimated the moment Christianity gained political power which they used to end freedom of religion. Are immoral demiurges like Yahweh, Jesus and Allah, the best that mankind can come up with? Why do you think we stopped inventing gods and settled for demonstrably immoral ones? Regards DL P.S. Gods are the opium of the people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6uEMOeDZsA

    Is God competent or incompetent?

Is God competent or incompetent? We are told in scriptures that evil begets evil and good begets good. God, as our creator, according to scriptures, creates us all as sinners, which many see as evil. God can thus be seen and judged as being the original sinner since the fruits of his labor (us) went bad or are born bad. A tree is known by its fruits. What else could come from a sinner tree but sin? I give God a fail on competence for the following reasons. God created heaven that produced Satan. Fail. God created Eden which produced Original Sin. Fail. God had to reboot creation with Noah’s flood. Fail. God sent his son to forgive mankind instead of stepping up himself. Fail, for moral reasons. God also had to create hell for his rejects which scriptures say will be the vast majority of us. Fail. Jesus said we would know his people by their works and deeds and if we believe that, then the Christian God would obviously be rejected by Jesus and agree with my fail judgement. Do you agree? Regards DL

    Is God competent or incompetent?

I agree with your view and do not know why Christians put their genocidal god ahead of their moral sense. Religions are there to assuage our insecurity and tribal sense. Morality does not seem to guide those poor insecure souls. Regards DL
  5. Is the ongoing punishment of Adam and Eve justifiable? Christian dogma says that Adam and Eve were murdered by neglect when God locked away the tree of life. Eve was deceived by Satan and the talking serpent that God put in Eden. This caused the Original Sin concept that Christianity calls a happy fault and necessary to God’s plan. Was gaining an education and a moral sense, which basically is what gaining knowledge is, justifiable to you? Can you see yourself punishing your children for gaining an education and a moral sense the way God is punishing Adam and Eve to this day? Regards DL

Is the ongoing punishment of Adam and Eve justifiable?

Let me just repeat my last to you. Given that Yahweh is describes as having satanic morals, like genocidal and infanticidal, is getting away from Yahweh's foul moral not a good thing? Regards DL

Satan gave man love. Was it worth the hate?

Satan gave man love. Was it worth the hate? Adam thought so. He instantly and without argument or hesitation ate of that knowledge when Eve offered love to Adam. Without Satan causing Original Sin, mankind could no know of love or hate as love and hate are subject to being good or evil. Would you do as Adam did? Was Satan right in opening our eyes to love and hate? Should we venerate Satan more than Yahweh who tried to deny mankind love? Regards DL

Satan gave man love. Was it worth the hate?

Given that Yahweh is a genocidal son murdering prick with satanic morals, do you not see us developing a better moral sense as a good thing? Regards DL

Have the rich and powerful lost their altruistic instincts?

F-16 Your brush is too wide and your view too narrow. Watch this link and see how wrong you are. Note especially the stats at the end. Regards DL
  10. Have the rich and powerful lost their altruistic instincts? Humans are the most altruistic and good of all the animal species, yet at present, our rich and powerful allow the poorest of us to starve to death by hoarding their wealth. This is unheard of in the animal world. https://www.upworthy.com/9-out-of-10-americans-are-completely-wrong-about-this-mind-blowing-fact-2 Generally speaking, in ancient days the rich and powerful insured that the poor were taken care of to the best of their ability. In the past, the rank and file demanded that the rich and powerful live up to that good altruistic trait by revolting against them. The French Revolution is a good example of this. Have the rank and file lost their altruistic and good characters by allowing the rich and powerful to let people starve to death while doing nothing? Are the notions of liberty, equality, and fraternity dead in the world? Is mankind at the point of losing the altruistic instincts that has made us the greatest animal that the world has ever produced? Regards DL

Have the rich and powerful lost their altruistic instincts?

We are getting there. The next generation, 20-30 years should be all we need as the young will be brighter than the generation now in control. They will be disgusted by things like what these links show. https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danthropology/2015/10/44-percent-of-republicans-favor-a-christian-theocracy-according-to-a-new-survey/?ref_widget=popular&ref_blog=dispatches&ref_post=the-horrifying-reality-of-biblical-gender-roles Regards DL

Have the rich and powerful lost their altruistic instincts?

Logic and reason must rule, true, but if a good ruler rules by duty for honor, which I think is the best way, then feelings cannot be ignored as that is a part of the duty as rulers should rule to make their people happy. He would have to play to feelings, not ignore them. I do know what you meant though, but if we are to just end as being ruled by a bean counter, we might loose our humanity. A demographics and statistics will likely rule soon, but if taken too far we might shoot ourselves in the foot. Regards DL

Have the rich and powerful lost their altruistic instincts?

I hope that that is a royal you and you did not want to go personal on me. I would personally love to be rich and powerful so that I might do more good than I can being what I am. Rich and powerful are just tools we can use and like all tools, they can do good work or shoddy work. It all depends on the skills of the one yielding those tools. No? Regards DL
  14. Should the religious world thank the secular world for improving older religious law to the level of excellence we now enjoy? If we grade secular law against theistic laws, I think we will agree that God’s laws are unjust when compared to the laws of most lands. Three cheers for secular world and the world’s intelligentsia. They are the Gnostics of the world and their just laws prove it. Regards DL

Satan gave man love. Was it worth the hate?

Prostitution was a part of it for sure, but without the knowledge of good and evil, you would not know that it was evil. That fact is why Adam did the right thing. Would you not partake of knowledge and be so ignorant of morality as to not know that prostitution was evil? Regards DL
  18. Equality is impossible. Women and children should come first and have rightfully won the equality wars. This is not to say that I do not believe in equality under the law. I do, but would ignore it for my higher duty to family if the need should arise. The protection of home as the family hub and backbone of society is why moral men should and do put women and their children above themselves. That is the highest of a male’s duty to humanity and our evolving species and is a part of our instincts. If a man, and you do not live by the law of the sea and put’s women and children and their needs above your own, even on land, then you would not be doing your highest or first duty to humanity. Do you agree? Regards DL

  21. Are Christians, Muslims and atheists idolaters? Scholars think so and so do I. http://bigthink.com/videos/what-is-god-2-2 Scriptures warn against idol worship yet that is exactly what Christian and Muslims do. If you can talk about or name your God, you are an idolater. Do you realize that? God is often thought of as an ideal. I think that atheists would also fit into the idolater description because they idolize the notion that there is no God and have chosen that as their ideal. Agnostics seem to be the only ones who are not idolaters because, like Gnostic Christians, they do not mind saying, I don’t know or only speaking of things they know to be facts. Regards DL

Are Christians, Muslims and atheists idolaters?

We agree on idolatry. For the rest. I hope you mean all that as an analysis of the myth, and not from a belief that Moses actually lived. Most Jews no longer read their myths literally. As to "I AM THAT I AM". Modern Gnostic Christians name our God "I am", and yes, we do mean ourselves. You are your controller. I am mine. You represent and present whatever mind picture you have of your God or ideal human, and so do I. The name "I Am" you might see as meaning something like, --- I think I have grown up thanks to having forced my apotheosis through Gnosis and meditation. In Gnostic Christianity, we follow the Christian tradition that lazy Christians have forgotten that they are to do. That is, become brethren to Jesus. That is why some say that the only good Christian is a Gnostic Christian. Here is the real way Jesus taught. Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Allan Watts explain those quotes in detail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alRNbesfXXw&feature=player_embedded Joseph Campbell shows the same esoteric ecumenist idea in this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGx4IlppSgU The bible just plainly says to put away the things of children. The supernatural. Regards DL Indeed, and that begins with Gnosis, regardless of your belief or non-belief system. For you to analize things, you have to insure you know yourself enough to be able to trust your judgements. Meditation is what I recommend for knowing your true self. Regards DL
