Trump steps towards WW3?

Recommended Posts

“It crossed a lot of lines for me,” Trump said at a press conference with Jordanian King Abdullah II at the White House. “When you kill innocent children, innocent babies, little babies with a chemical gas that is so lethal that people were shocked to hear what gas it was, that crosses many lines beyond the red line. Many, many lines.”

My first thought on hearing about the gas attack and seeing the photos, is that it was propaganda from the rebels.   Either fake, or they used the gas themselves.   The only way they will win is if they can get America (or other bullies) to fight on their side.  The civil war is almost won.  Assad is not going anywhere.  His people support him.  Why oh why, would he risk at this stage a chemical attack and invite interference from the UN and America?  Answer:  He would not.

It was clear that Hilary was squaring up with Putin, and i fully expected her to start a WW with them if she was elected president.  Thankfully she was not.  But now only a few months later, we see a fake narrative changing Trump's mind to get the exact same policy if we had elected Hilary.   Is this democracy?  Where each choice ends with the same result?

Assad is getting a lot of support for all his reputation of brutality, certainly on one hand from Russia, and this is not by any means the first time he is reported using chemical weapons.

Yes, its the same old lie.   Weapons of mass destruction, chemical weapons, pictures of children etc.

So today I wake up to find Trump has bombed a Syrian airbase in response.  Probably a base with Russian soldiers, I'm guessing.   I really wish Russia would bomb an equivalent American airport with exactly the same level of ordinance.

Its not war where you can strike without consequences or retaliation, that's called being a bully.  Lets see how much the American people support striking 1000s of miles across the world in areas that have nothing to do with them if they get hit back.

Russia: Chemical Weapons Used By US-Backed Rebels Against Syrians

22 November 2016.

Russia has proof that US-backed rebels in Syria used chemical weapons

Russia say they have evidence that US-backed rebels have been using chemical weapons against Syrians in Aleppo and claim the UN are doing nothing about it.

Experts from the Russian Defense Ministry have evidence that terrorists used chlorine and white phosphorus in Area '1070' in the southwestern suburbs of Aleppo.

"Russian specialists found that militants in east Aleppo used ammunition with poisonous substances, with the ammo targeting west Aleppo. The collected samples leave no doubt that it's a toxic agent," Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference.

Farsnews.com reports:

However, when the Russian Ministry of Defense addressed the leadership of the UN watchdog OPCW "with the demand to urgently send its experts to Aleppo to participate in the sample analysis," the organization "refused to carry out this simple task, citing security issues."

The underlying reason behind this, Lavrov said, seemed to be "tremendous pressure from our Western colleagues," because "our and Syrian sides guaranteed security for the experts."

Russia is now working on the possibility of delivering the samples for analysis to The Hague, Lavrov added.

"It will make it hard for them to back out," the minister said, as quoted by TASS.

Lavrov's statement comes a day after the Ministry of Defense spoke about the evidence of chemical attacks by militants, and stressed that the OPCW was refusing to cooperate.

Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov said that Russian experts collected bioassays from four Syrians injured in the attacks, and made the shocking discovery earlier this month.

In fact, Russian top brass has been warning since September that the militants might use chemical weapons against civilians in Aleppo, and in October, Syrian state media reported toxic gas having been used against a government-held area in the city.

Fifteen people were injured back then, and a local doctor told RT that the symptoms could be those observed after the use of chlorine gas.

I am a U.S. citizen, and I am definitely not on the side of Russia vs. the United States in any sort of military conflict.

At the same time I have enjoyed the level of open discourse you have hosted here.

Just a small spelling note:

  • ordinance = a local regulation or law passed by the council of a town, city, municipality, or county.
  • ordnance (without the "i") = a heavy explosive munition.

Good.  Long may it continue.

Its not about sides though.  I think America is behind most of the world's problems at the moment, and is a huge force of evil. Not American people. but your government, war machine.  The Muslim issue is caused by America.  If they hadnt illegally taken out the rulers of Iraq etc we wouldnt have seen such a huge number of immigrants into Europe.   Every time someone is raped, mugged, killed, blown up by Muslims, America is responsible for them being there and their hate of the west.

Now Russia, might just be as bad.  But we dont seem them practising regime change in countries 1000s of miles away that are nothing to do with them.

No, it's really not.  I am not now, nor have I ever been or claimed to be, a member of the Armed Forces.

At the same time there are those of us in America who are doing everything we can to confront and conquer that evil within America.  In the first place, we insist that America hold true to her Constitution.  In the second place, we will never cease to fight that corruption in our government and Military-Industrial Complex and others who would steal from the people of the United States of America and wrongfully deprive us of our rights.

There is no denying this "huge force of evil."  However, in order to be successful, we must fight evil per se evil, not evil per se America, or evil per se Russia.

The nation that most successfully conquers the evil within itself will be the nation most victorious in war.

I wish that were true, I really do.  But as one country breaks free from control, the other countries are manipulated to destroy it.

That is definitely a factor.  Breaking out of the cartel is part of conquering that evil.

The pandering to foreign influence, accepting bribes, and so on and so forth, yes, that is all necessary for a country to conquer in order to conquer the evil within itself.  The "shock-and-awe" campaign of the 1991 Gulf War accomplished very little in slowing or stopping the covert corruption of the United States government which Saddam Hussein and other Muslim extremist terrorists have been actively and aggressively engaging in all along.

That corruption has advanced all the further today in the United States.  It's the same old "silver-and-lead" (Ag & Pb) system.  Silver (money under the table) if you cooperate; lead (bullet to the head) if you don't.  The secrecy of the corruption, the blackmail, the entrenched cowardice, the appalling sense of entitlement of those in any position of advantage or power --- it all just continually becomes worse and worse as time goes on.

Our entire once great nation has been turned irrevocably into a local, state, federal, and military red-light district over the last few decades.  The screw tapes, the revenge porn, the extortion rackets, the denialism, ("Oh, I'm doing fine; you must be mentally ill if you aren't;") it just goes on and on.
