it apparently has some basis in reality

but something smells about this entire business i do not like that fourth link. if you visit sites like and put two and two together, you will learn that the bad guys know a lot more about where the witnesses live than the good guys do. sometimes they call it "witness protection program" in movies or on tv, but officials are shying away from the term "protection" and calling it "security" -- that is even worse -- "we need to watch these rats and keep track of them" on probation, as it were, even if their only crime were ratting out the criminals. something smells really off here
