The Puma Punku Scam Lives On :(

Recommended Posts

The allegedly 12,000 yrs old blocks at Puma Punku are poured concrete, the cement block above has indentations for electrical and phone lines, as well it has acquired more weathering in the interval between both shots being taken, than it did in the previous 12,000 yrs .. gimme a break!!

Above left cross section of Roman concrete from Pozzuoli Bay Italy, composed of mortar formulated from lime, volcanic ash and chunks of volcanic tuff. Carol Hagen photo.

The Puma Pinku region is highly volcanic, there is a type of natural cement that can be made from untreated volcanic gravel .. see  at right the concrete dome in the Tempio di Venere e Roma inaugurated by Emperor Hadrian in AD 135 .. which surely resembles the blocks at Puma Pinku.

So has there been any accurate dating of the stone blocks recently?

And I would like to also know how this is a scam?

Other then this information I found:

According to Anthropology Professor W. H. Isbell, a radiocarbon date obtained from mound fill forming the Puma punku deposited during the oldest of three construction epochs dates the earliest construction epoch of the Puma punku at 1510 ±25 B.P. (A.D. 440; calibrated, A.D. 536–600). (6) This would place the building of the temple at the beginning of the third great Tiwanakan cultural expansion.

And this from Wiki:

Determining the age of the Pumapunku complex has been a focus of researchers since the discovery of the Tiwanaku site. As noted by Andean specialist, Binghamton University Anthropology professor W. H. Isbell,[2] a radiocarbon date was obtained by Vranich[3] from organic material from lowermost and oldest layer of mound-fill forming the Pumapunku. This layer was deposited during the first of three construction epochs and dates the initial construction of the Pumapunku to CE 536–600 (1510 ±25 B.P. C14, calibrated date). Since the radiocarbon date came from the lowermost and oldest layer of mound-fill underlying the andesite and sandstone stonework, the stonework must have been constructed sometime after CE 536–600. The excavation trenches of Vranich show that the clay, sand, and gravel fill of the Pumapunku complex lie directly on the sterile middle Pleistocene sediments. These excavation trenches also demonstrated the lack of any pre-Andean Middle Horizon cultural deposits within the area of the Tiwanaku Site adjacent to the Pumapunku complex.
